Committee to struggle for province’s rights Peshawar (PPI): Expressing lack of confidence over the performance of ANP-led provincial government, the political parties of NWFP on Tuesday formed a consultation committee to take up the issue of net hydel profit with the center and start an effective campaign for the achievement of provincial rights. The committee was constituted during All Parties Conference organized by Jamaat-e-Islmi wherein provincial heads of PML (N), JUI (F), JUP, PkMAP, PTI, PML (Q), Jamiat-e-Ahle Hadith and representatives of National Party, JUP, JUI (S) and Tehreek-e-Islami participated. Almost all the political parties including the dissented MNA of ANP and former federal Minister Khwaja Muhammad Khan Hotti strongly criticized ANP and termed that the nationalist had ‘compromised’ over the province’s rights and even could not succeeded to get Rs 6 billion of the net hydel profit which the government reflected in the fiscal budge of 2009-10. Since ANP, they agreed, had been failed to pursue the issue of provincial autonomy and follow the case of net hydel profit, therefore all the representative parties of NWFP will form a ‘Jirga’ to take up the issue and start effectual campaign for the provincial autonomy. Jamaat-e-Islami’s provincial amir Sirajul–ul-Haq said all the political parties will jointly struggle for the provincial rights, net hydel profit and restoration of peace in the province and will raise these issues on national and international level. Siraj announced the names of the committee members that will include the PML (N) NWFP chief Pir Sabir Shah, JUI (F) NWFP amir Maulana Gull Naseeb Khan, PTI NWFP president Asad Qaiser, PML (Q) General Secretary for NWFP Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani, MNA Khwaj Muhammad Khan and Amir Jamaat-e- Islami NWFP Siraj-ul-Haq. Jaamat-e-Islami announced to coordinate between the members parties of the committee and call its first meeting at Islamabad to devise the strategy to pursue their agenda. All the political parties were unanimous that as per the decision of the arbitration tribunal the center must release Rs 24 billion of the net hydel profit as first installment to the province and eliminate the concurrent list besides announcing the National Finance Commission Award without any further delay.
